2024 Annual Outcomes Report: A New Standard for Recovery at Home

The release of Aware Recovery Care’s 2024 Annual Outcomes Report marks a pivotal moment for the organization and the broader field of addiction treatment. As a Health Enterprise Partners portfolio company, Aware Recovery Care continues to set the bar for innovative, compassionate, and evidence-based care—delivered directly in the comfort of clients’ homes.

Transforming Lives Through Home-Based Care

In 2024, Aware Recovery Care served over 3,500 clients across 11 states, reflecting both the urgent need for accessible addiction treatment and the trust placed in its unique In-Home Addiction Treatment (IHAT) model. This approach empowers individuals to heal without disrupting daily life, combining expert clinical oversight, peer support, and a whole-family focus to drive sustainable recovery.

Key highlights from the 2024 Outcomes Report include:

  • 92% of clients completed detox safely at home, underscoring the effectiveness and safety of Aware’s Virtual Detox program
  • 26% reduction in emergency room visits among clients, demonstrating the impact of proactive, in-home care on broader healthcare utilization
  • 9.5 out of 10 average client satisfaction score, reflecting deep engagement and trust in the care model
  • 95% of clients report improved family relationships and 78% are abstinent from drugs and alcohol six months post-treatment

Innovation and Expansion

This year saw the rollout of expanded virtual services, including Virtual Detox and Virtual Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in eight states. Participation in MAT grew tenfold, from 4% in 2023 to 40% by the end of 2024, highlighting increasing demand for flexible, medication-supported recovery options. Notably, 59% of Virtual Detox clients also transitioned into the IHAT program, ensuring continuity of care.

Measurable Impact

Aware Recovery Care’s model drives not only clinical success but also significant reductions in healthcare utilization:

  • 67% reduction in inpatient/residential and emergency department admissions during treatment
  • 73% reduction in total days spent in higher levels of care during treatment
  • These reductions persist one year post-treatment, with a 26% drop in ER visits and sustained engagement with primary care providers

Community and Recognition

2024 was also a year of deepened community partnerships and industry recognition. Aware Recovery Care was named the Best Substance Use Treatment Program in Ohio Business Magazine’s 2024 Best in Ohio Business Awards and recognized as a Top Detox Services Provider by Healthcare Business Review. New collaborations, such as with Hartford HealthCare, further expanded access to comprehensive addiction care.
